Welcome to the 100 Church Gate Consultation Site
Mayforth and its design team would like to thank you for visiting this community consultation page in connection with its proposals to redevelop the site at 100 Church Gate in Leicester.
The Proposals will deliver new high-quality build to rent accommodation along Church Gate within the city centre that respects the townscape and historical significance of the local area whilst embracing contemporary living.
The current Matalan building which was constructed in the 1980s will be demolished and replaced with an attractive, vibrant, and welcoming development comprising 222 residential apartments. This residential offer will include a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed units, alongside internal and external amenity space for residents to enjoy.
A planning application comprising of 262 apartments was refused by Leicester City Council in November 2022, and since this time Mayforth has worked closely with the Council to develop a revised scheme that address the previous reasons for refusal.
Mayforth is now in the process of preparing a revised planning application, which will be submitted to Leicester City Council in due course. On the following pages you will find information relating to the proposed development, including the timescales in which an application intends to be submitted.
Should you have any comments on the proposals please complete the form by hitting the ‘Have Your Say’ button, or email [email protected], before the consultation deadline closes on Monday 23rd October 2023.
